Mathematician of Special Interest

Welcome to the Interesting Mathematician site. Here, you will find biographies of various mathematicians, with a new mathematician being profiled each month (that's about all that I can find time for!). As a unique twist, I will try to profile mathematicians who aren't as well-known as some of the bigger names, like Newton, Euler, etc. Also, my selection of mathematicians greatly depends upon availability of materials on the individual. For example, I will begin with a profile on Stan Ulam. This work was based on the book Adventures of a Mathematician. The book was a gift to me from the Math department at the University of Washington.
