Airplane view of the Golden Gate Bridge (back)

Preliminary surveys and test borings were started in 1929. Gound was broken for the Golden Gate Bridge February 26th, 1933, and now, just four years and three motnhs from that date, traffic flowss, uninterrupted, across the most beautiful bridge in the wordl. It cost $35,000,000 and will have an estimated earning capatity of $2,800,000 annually.
